Introduction

The Basis Project will run training on four key areas of organisational development. This includes project development, financial management, organisational governance and fundraising in each of the nine English regions.

The Basis Project training, which is being designed in-house, is made up of individual training sessions. These training sessions have been designed to utilise your RCO's knowledge and experience for the benefit of all, training will be interactive and engaging. To supplement the training sessions, handouts and information sheets are also provided.

Training has been designed for small to medium RCOs and is aimed at everyone from beginners to those in need of a refresher course.

RCOs have limited time and capacity so the sessions have been broken down into smaller modules lasting between one and a half hours to four hours. For example, under Financial Management there are four modules, including one on writing a budget and one on managing your accounts. Organisational Development Officers will deliver the training, provide refreshments, and help with childcare and travel costs. Training will begin in the spring/summer of 2008. Please contact us for more information.

To meet RCOs’ other learning needs we will look to work in partnership with other training providers. In addition to this, the Basis Project toolkits have been created in each of the key areas which have details on areas which may not be covered in the Basis Project training sessions directly. The toolkits will also complement the learning sessions and contain further information including templates and examples for each topic.
